Association MDE

Maison des étudiants is an association of the Catholic University of Lyon that manages the Maison Saint Bernard residence.

Its purpose is to welcome and support first-year students who are away from home for the first time. It aims to prevent isolation and facilitate their integration into a new environment.

Ideally located in the heart of Lyon, a stone's throw from the Carnot and Saint-Paul campuses, the Saint-Bernard residence offers a safe, friendly and study-friendly living environment. Students will find a peaceful atmosphere, suited to the pace of their studies and daily life.

To encourage socialising and community life, numerous rooms and common areas are accessible every day: places for discussion, relaxation and sharing, they make it easy to form bonds.

During the academic year, half of our students are international. This cultural diversity makes Saint-Bernard a place of openness, discovery and mutual enrichment.

Our residence is primarily intended for students enrolled in their first year at Ucly

The entire team ensures that every resident can find the help and support they need to successfully complete their first year away from their families.

Meeting places

The availability of numerous common rooms and the organisation of workshops and activities encourage residents to meet each other and help to prevent anonymity. These are places for interaction that promote learning about community life, mutual aid and solidarity, and respect for others in a warm and welcoming environment.

Each year, around twenty students choose to stay on for an extra year to become floor representatives. Selected for their sense of service and desire to help, they support new arrivals, organise activities on their floor and ensure that shared spaces, particularly the kitchens, run smoothly, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

Multicultural exchanges

The Student House welcomes young people from different social backgrounds and cultures, promoting personal enrichment, understanding of others and learning about differences. The presence of many international students allows for rich cultural exchanges and an openness to the world. Around 40 nationalities are represented in our houses each year.

Staff at your service
